Melting over the Greenland ice sheet from Passive Microwave Data
The data set contains daily binary maps of melting over the Greenland ice sheet derived from spaceborne passive microwave data following the work by Tedesco and others (for references please see here).
For each year, the data set is a matrix of 721 x 721 x 270, with the first two dimensions containing the 721 x 721 binary mask (melt / no melt) and the third dimension being the day of the year, between day 1 and day 270.
Spatial Coverage: Greenland ice sheet (exclude coastal areas)
Temporal Coverage: 1979 - 2013 - Daily (temporally interpolated between 1979 and 1985)
Spatial Resolution: 25 km
Projection: EASE-Grid (http://nsidc.org/data/ease/)
